2. I know there is a conversion available from Pastel 2005 to Orangeworks. Is there a conversion available from Pastel 2007, Pastel QuickBooks, IQ and Accpac? If not when will this conversion be available?

We do have a conversion tool available for Pastel 2005,2007,2009, Pastel Premier and Pastel Evololution. We are willing to look at any other package to convert, but most people prefer to just import their master files and bring over the opening balances

3. How will I be able to backup and restore my data?

Orangeworks™ Accounting comes with a unique back-up and restore process that will enable you to backup and restore data. There is also an automated backup program for the Orangeworks databases available at a once off fee of R 1500 (excl).

The cost involved will be R140.00 per month per user or R1 400.00 per user per year.

7. Is Orangeworks™ stable?

Orangeworks™ runs on Microsoft SQL 2005 database where all changes are done transactional. Any problem and the whole transaction rolls back.

8. How user friendly is the program with regards to customising reports and the usage of the reports?

All information in Orangeworks™ can be displayed in grids. These grids are customisable and can be printed as a report or exported to excel.

9. Is the performance of the system affected working over a network?

We haven’t found a decrease in speed over the network.

10. Will I be able to do stock control ?

Yes. All stock control is built in and can be done through transactions and we cater for multi ware housing as well.

11. Will I be able to import reports into excel?

Yes, with Orangeworks™ you will be able to import reports into excel.

12. Will it be easy doing my bank recons with Orangeworks™?

Yes. We believe we’ve created an easy bank recon in one screen where you can see everything. You can also import you bank statements directly into Orangeworks to save time and finger errors!

All modules are included in the base package.
When Modules are added an update with the new patch will be downloadable from the internet.

No, if you could you wouldn’t have secure information for your auditor.

35. Where did the name Orangeworks™ come from?

We had a workshop with all the Staff (in JHB) to come up with possible names for our product. We worked through all the names and reasons, to end up with a short list of 5 names. Two of the last names were Chiliworks and Orange Software. During the last vote, one of our developers  said that he votes for Orangeworks™. So Orangeworks™ was not on the last list of names or any list for that matter, but we liked it so much we decided to go with Orangeworks™.
